Gennadi Dmitrijewitsch Stoljarow ( Russian Геннадий Дмитриевич Столяров ; born August 20, 1986 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Spartak Moscow in the Continental Hockey League since May 2019 .
Career
Gennady Stolyarov began his career as a hockey player at THK Tver , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division, in the 2003/04 season . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the eighth round as a total of 257th player by the Detroit Red Wings , for which he however never played. Instead, the winger stayed in Russia and moved within the Wysschaja Liga to Vitjas Chekhov , with whom he achieved promotion to the Superliga . However, he himself stayed in the second division and joined Kapitan Stupino , for which he only played 17 games before he was committed in the course of the 2005/06 season by HK Dynamo Moscow from the Superliga. For the capital club he ran regularly in the following two and a half years and reached the playoffs three times with his team.
After Stolyarov had started the 2008/09 season at HK Dynamo Moscow in the newly founded Continental Hockey League , he moved to Kazakh KHL participant Barys Astana after only three games , for whom he scored twelve goals in a total of 44 games by the end of the season there were nine templates. For the following season , the Russian signed a contract with his ex-club HK MWD, who had risen in the meantime and moved to Balaschikha. With this he was defeated in the 2009/10 season by league rivals Ak Bars Kazan only in the final of the playoffs for the Gagarin Cup . After the season, the HK MWD was merged with the HK Dynamo Moscow and the left-handed shooter received a contract for the 2010/11 season with their successor team OHK Dynamo . In June 2011 he was signed by Severstal Tscherepowez and completed over 160 KHL games for the club in the following 5 years. In December 2014, Stolyarov was given to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in exchange for a right to vote for the KHL Junior Draft 2015 .
In May 2015 he signed a two-year contract with HK CSKA Moscow , but already switched to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in November 2016 . He then played for one year each for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and Vitjas Podolsk.
