Virginija Baltraitienė
Virginija Baltraitienė ( Gentvilaitė ; * March 4, 1958 in Želvaičiai , Telšiai district ) is a Lithuanian politician, member of the Seima since 2005 . From 2014 to 2016 she was the Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania , Deputy Speaker of Parliament (2012–2014) and Mayor of Kėdainiai Rajong Municipality (2005).
Life
In 1976, after graduating from Baisogala Middle School , Virginija Gentvilaitė graduated from Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija in 1981 with a degree in business administration as a business administrator . From 1981 to 1984 she was in business administration in Radviliškis , in Šušvė - collective farm . From 1994 to 1997 she worked as an accountant and deputy chief accountant at AB Ūkio bankas . From 1999 to 2004 she was the administrative director and in 2005 the mayor of the Kėdainiai district . She has been a member of Seimas since December 2005 . From 2012 to 2014 she was Deputy Speaker of Parliament. From July 17, 2014 to December 13, 2016, she was the Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania .
She has been a member of Darbo partija since 2002 .
family
Baltraitienė's brother is Eugenijus Gentvilas (* 1960), a former Prime Minister of Lithuania. With her husband Regimantas Baltraitis, director of UAB “Kėdainių autoservisas”, she has a daughter and a son. Her nephew is Simonas Gentvilas (* 1984), politician, Seimas member.
