The Georg von Holtzbrinck School for Business Journalists in Dusseldorf each year is twelve volunteers to business journalists from. The Handelsblatt publishing group is responsible for the school named after Georg von Holtzbrinck . The founding school director was Ferdinand Simoneit , the subsequent school directors were Jens Eckhardt, Joachim Weidemann, Christoph Moss , Klaus Methfessel and, since the end of 2013, Peter Brors.

education

During their 18-month training, the volunteers go through various positions in the editorial offices of the Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftswoche . The group meets every month in Düsseldorf for the seminar week. During this time she practices all journalistic styles from commentary to reportage , goes on research trips and visits companies. The program also includes units on economic issues.

Graduates

Since it was founded in 1988, the school has trained around 160 editors, including Steffen Klusmann (editor-in-chief of Manager Magazin ), Gabor Steingart (former publisher of Handelsblatt ), Joachim Dorfs (editor-in-chief of Stuttgarter Zeitung , formerly editor-in-chief of Handelsblatt ) and Nena Schink (Spiegel bestseller -Author).
