Gerold Bührer (born June 23, 1948 in Hofen , entitled to live in Bibern and Hofen ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP, the Liberals ) and lobbyist .

biography

Bührer held his first political mandate from 1982 to 1991 in the Cantonal Council of the Canton of Schaffhausen . On November 25, 1991, he was elected to the National Council, where he was a member of several commissions and presided over the finance commission from 1997 to 1999. From April 2001 to November 2002 he was party president of the Free Democratic Party . On December 2, 2007, he resigned from the National Council. From 2007 to 2012 Bührer was President of the Economiesuisse business association , from 2008 to 2014 he was a member of the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank . He is also active on some boards of directors , e. B. Bührer is Vice President of Swiss Life .

Since 2014 he has been Chairman of the Board of FehrAdvice & Partners AG (founded in 2010 by Ernst Fehr and the CEO Gerhard Fehr), the world's first business and management consultancy specializing in behavioral economics.

The business advisor (lic. Oec. Publ.) Has two adult children. He has been married to the former National and Government Councilor Elisabeth Zölch since 2012 . He lives in Thayngen . He was a captain in the Swiss Army .
