Rolex Sports Car Series 2013
The Rolex Sports Car Series 2013 began with the Daytona 24-hour race on 26/27. January 2013 and ended on September 28, 2013 at Lime Rock Park . It was the last season before the merger with the American Le Mans Series for the United SportsCar Championship .
New class structure
This season a second class for GT cars was introduced, the GX class. Only cars with alternative drives were allowed to compete in this. However, the GX-Class had only three starters over the entire season, four other cars competed in individual races. For the 2014 season in the new United SportsCar Championship, the class will be merged into the GT Daytona class (former Grand-Am GT class).
