Gregor Bürger

Gregor Bürger (* 1976 in Munich ) is a German jazz musician ( tenor , baritone saxophone , occasionally also clarinets and bassoon ) and composer who, among other things, is a member of the crossover formation Panzerballett , in Matthias Schriefl's Ensemble 6, Alps and Jazz , in Max von Mosch Orchestra and the big band Earforce he founded became known.

Life

Bürger became a member of the Tölzer Boys' Choir at the age of ten and began playing the saxophone at the age of fourteen. As a teenager he found his enthusiasm for jazz and funk . From 1994 to 1996 he completed a so-called young degree at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich . He completed his music studies there (saxophone, clarinet and bassoon ) in 1998 as a certified music teacher. This was followed by studies at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz until 1999 .

Bürger taught from 1997 to 2002 at the Rasso Music School in Grafrath , from 2002 to 2004 in Munich at 3Klang and from 2003 to 2004 at the New Jazz School in Munich .

Musical work

In 1996, Bürger appeared with the Victor Alcántara Quintet at the Munich Jazz Festival and completed a WDR production. From 1995 to 1997 he played in Peter Herbolzheimer's national jazz orchestra .

In 1999 he founded Earforce , a funk, fusion and groove jazz wind ensemble, which includes Thorsten Skringer ( heavytones , Der Fifth Mann ), Franz Weyerer ( Nuremberg Dance Orchestra ), the Unterbiberger court musicians Erwin Gregg, Dirk Janoske and Mathias Götz , the pianist and music producer Jan Eschke , the guitarist Jan Zehrfeld (Panzerballett, Rudolf Rock & die Schocker ), the bassist Heiko Jung (Panzerballett) and the drummer Sebastian Lanser ( Edenbridge , Panzerballett) belong (t) en.
