The Höster Mühle was a watermill located on the Niers in the municipality of Weeze with an undershot water wheel .

The Höster Mühle was located on Höst-Vornicher-Weg, on the left side of the Niers, in the municipality of Weeze, Kleve district , in North Rhine-Westphalia . Above was the Niersmühle Weeze , below the Susmühle .

The Niers has a height of approx. 18 m above sea ​​level here . The care and maintenance of the water is the responsibility of the Niersverband , which is based in Viersen .

history

The Höster Mühle was first mentioned in documents in 1330, when Count Dietrich Luf III. von Kleve with an income regulation of the feudal man Dietrich von der Straten , who had the income from the mill in Hoest recorded. The mill was a fief of the Ruleken Hagedorn . For Höster feud included a grain, solid, oil and Lohmühlenstraße that in the 1487 inheritance of Heinrich Schenk von Nydeggen be mentioned. It is not known whether it was one object or four mills. The mill was also called Hartefeldmühle on the 1803/04 Tranchot card . In 1843 Peter Stammen was the owner of the mill. In 1904/05 the mill burned down and was rebuilt. In 1911 the mill was operated with a steam locomotive , after the Nier river was regulated and the mill jam was removed in 1929, it was converted to electric drive. In 1955 the mill was stopped.
