The Nettmühle was a watermill in the municipality of Wachtendonk , located on the Nette , with an undershot water wheel .

geography

The Nettmühle is located at Nette, Müllemer Straße 1, in the Wachtendonk district of Kleve in North Rhine-Westphalia . The Nette has a height of about 33 m above sea ​​level here . The care and maintenance of the water is the responsibility of the Netteverband , which is based in Nettetal .

history

The Nettmühle was one of the mills owned by Count Schaesberg zu Krickenbeck. The mill probably dates from the 16th century. It was operated with hydropower until 1963. From this time on, an electric motor was also used alternately. After the retention rights were replaced during the land consolidation , the water wheel and the three grinding aisles were removed. The grinding operation was continued with a new hammer mill in the mill building and after 1972 in a new hall. The old mill house now serves as a residential building.
