Hebborn is a district of Bergisch Gladbach and belongs to the statistics district 2 of the city under number 22.

history

The old settlement name Hebborner Hof was retained as such for the Hebborn district with the emergence of street names towards the end of the 19th century. The Hebborner Hof was a high medieval settlement founded by the Counts of Berg and was first mentioned in 1280 as " Hadeburne ". In the Paffrath Red Missal from 1454 the Fronhof appears under the name " hatborn ". Just like the Fronhof zu Paffrath, the ducal court zu Hebborn had a court court that was responsible for Oberpaffrath and the honor of Kombüche. Around 1800 the hamlet on Wipperfürther Straße, divided into Unter- and Oberhebborn, was one of the largest settlement areas in the Gladbach area with 20 houses, even larger than Gladbach itself.

Mining and lime industries

Until the mid-20th century was in Schladetal in a quarry lime kiln operated. Iron ore was mined in the Prince Wilhelm mine until 1925 .

The neo-Gothic parish church of the Three Kings is characteristic of the townscape . It was consecrated as a place of worship on June 2, 1912.
