Heineken Cup 1995/96

The Heineken Cup 1996/97 was the second edition of the Heineken Cup , the most important European cup competition in rugby union . Twenty teams from six countries took part, England and Scotland were represented for the first time and teams from Romania were no longer invited due to the low level of performance. The final took place on January 25, 1997 at Cardiff Arms Park . The cup winners were the French club CA Brive , who beat the Leicester Tigers from England in the final.
