← Heineken Cup 1999/2000

The Heineken Cup 2000/01 was the sixth edition of the Heineken Cup , the most important European cup competition in rugby union . 24 teams from six countries took part. The final took place on May 19, 2001 at the Parc des Princes in Paris . Cup winners were the Leicester Tigers from England, who beat the French team Stade Français in the final .

mode

The participants were divided into six groups of four teams each. Each team played a home and an away game against the three group opponents. The six group winners and the two best runners-up qualified for the quarter-finals.

The points were distributed as follows:

  • 2 points for a win
  • 1 point for a tie
