Hejninge Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Slagelse Herred in what was then Sorø Amt , then to Slagelse Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which was merged into the “new” Slagelse Kommune in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the local government reform .

161 inhabitants live in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). The church “Hejninge Kirke” is located in the parish.

Neighboring communities are Sankt Peders Sogn in the north and east , Vemmelev Sogn in the south-west and Kirke Stillinge Sogn in the north-west .
