Sankt Povls Kirke

Sankt Povls Sogn ( German: Paulus -gemeinde ) is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Korsør on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to the Harde Slagelse Herred in what was then Sorø Amt , then to Korsør Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which became part of the Slagelse Kommune in the Sjælland region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

Of the 14,608 inhabitants of Korsør, 7,471 live in the parish of Sankt Povls (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Sankt Povls Kirke" is located in the parish.

The only direct neighboring municipality is Tårnborg Sogn in the east . In the north, the Sogn is connected to the Halskov Sogn by a bridge . Also part of the Sogn is the island of Sprogø , which is also connected to the Halskov Sogn via the Storebæltsbroen ( German: Great Belt Bridge ) in the east and to the via the western part of the Storebæltsforbindelsen (German: Great Belt Crossing ) Nyborg Sogn in Nyborg Municipality on the island of Fyn (dt .: Funen ) on the other side of the Great Beltes .
