Sorterup Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Slagelse Herred in what was then Sorø Amt , then to Slagelse Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which was merged into the “new” Slagelse Kommune in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the local government reform .

349 inhabitants live in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). The church “Sorterup Kirke” is located in the parish.

Neighboring municipalities are in southern Kindertofte Sogn and Ottestrup Sogn , in the southwest Gudum Sogn , in the northwest Gudum Sogn and north Nordrupvester Sogn , also in the east adjacent sorø municipality Bromme Sogn .
