Antvorskov Sogn (named after a former monastery and later royal castle ) is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Slagelse on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . It was created on November 30, 1997 by splitting off from the Sankt Peders Sogn . Initially it belonged to the Slagelse municipality in the Vestsjællands office , which was merged into the "new" Slagelse municipality in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .
Of the 34,015 inhabitants of Slagelse, 5,902 live in the Antvorskov parish (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Antvorskov Kirke" is located in the parish.
Neighboring communities in the north are Sankt Peders Sogn , Sankt Mikkels Sogn and Ottestrup Sogn and in the south Sørbymagle Sogn , Sludstrup Sogn and Slots Bjergby Sogn , and in the east neighboring Sorø municipality Lynge Sogn .

Until 1970 Sankt Peders Sogn belonged to the Harde Slagelse Herred in what was then Sorø Amt .
