Skælskør Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Skælskør on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Vester Flakkebjerg Herred in what was then Sorø Amt , then to Skælskør Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which was merged into Slagelse Municipality in the Sjælland region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

Of the 6455 inhabitants of Skælskør, 3916 live in the parish of the same name (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Sankt Nicolai Kirke" is located in the parish.

Neighboring communities are Boeslunde Sogn in the north, Eggeslevmagle Sogn in the east and Magleby Sogn in the south .
