Air Méditerranée was a French charter airline based in Juillan near Lourdes and based at Lourdes Airport .

history

The airline was founded in 1997 as a charter airline and began operating in the same year. In the course of the Arab Spring and competition from Eastern Europe , the company had to be liquidated in 2016 .

In 2011 the subsidiary Hermes Airlines was founded at Athens Airport in order to benefit from the cheaper cost structures there compared to France. It started with the operation of a Boeing 737-500 . By the beginning of 2012, two additional aircraft from the parent company were transferred to Greece. In March 2012 it was announced that another 2 aircraft will follow.
