history

The first written mention of Hetzdorf refers to the village of Wüsthetzdorf, which was incorporated into Hetzdorf in 1887. In the Lehnbuch Friedrich des Strengen 1349/50 the place name "villa Hectilsdorf desolata" and 1378 " Heczelsdorff vorwüst" can be found. Today's Hetzdorf was created south of Wüsthetzdorf from parts of the former Niederschöna estate . This scattered settlement is mentioned from 1409 as Hetzelsdorff , Dorf des Hetzel (name form to Hermann), 1454 as Hezcilsdorff and 1568 as Hetzdorff . Wüsthetzdorf was probably in the 17./18. Resettled from Herrndorf in the 19th century. The Hutha settlement to the north of Wüsthetzdorf was mentioned for the first time probably before 1511 in connection with ore deliveries to the Freiberg mint . From the 16th century onwards, mining attempts can be proven in Hetzdorf, but they were unsuccessful. The mining operations were stopped in 1871.

In the 18th century the manor over Hetzdorf was at the manor Krummenhennersdorf , that of Wüsthetzdorf at the manor Reinsberg , the Hutha settlement belonged to both manors . Hetzdorf, Wüsthetzdorf and Hutha were seen as one place in some respects until the 19th century. Together with Niederschöna, they formed a southern exclave of the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon District Office of Meissen until 1836 . From 1836 the four places briefly belonged to the Freiberg district office . Their corridor separated the town of Erlicht , which belonged to the Grillenburg office , from the actual office, to which Herrndorf also belonged.

In 1856, Hetzdorf, Wüsthetzdorf and Hutha were incorporated into the Freiberg judicial office and, after the judiciary and administration were separated, in 1875 into the Freiberg administration . In 1539 Hetzdorf is parish to Niederschöna. From 1930 the village belongs to the parish Niederschöna-Oberschaar. In the second half of the 19th century Hutha was part of the Herrndorf community together with Erlicht. Due to the charming, quiet location of the place directly on the Tharandt forest , referred to as the most beautiful forest in Saxony in the Romantic era , tourism developed in Hetzdorf as early as 1900.

On April 1, 1948, the municipality of Herrndorf was incorporated into Hetzdorf with Hutha and Erlicht. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Hetzdorf and its districts became part of Freiberg in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Freiberg from 1990 and was added to the district of Central Saxony in 2008 . In 1974, Hetzdorf received the title " State-approved resort ", which was renewed in 2010.

On March 1, 1994, the municipality of Hetzdorf and its districts were incorporated into Niederschöna . This community was again incorporated into Halsbrücke on January 1, 2006. Since then, Hetzdorf has formed the "Hetzdorf" district with Wüsthetzdorf, Neuwüsthetzdorf, Hutha and Herrndorf, while Erlicht is an independent district of the municipality of Halsbrücke.

Districts of the former municipality of Hetzdorf

Wüsthetzdorf

The first mention of the name in 1349/50 as “villa Heczilsdorf desolata” in the previously mentioned loan book of Friedrich des Strengen refers to the strip of land west of Herrendorf. The village was probably in the 17./18. Resettled from Herrndorf in the 19th century. Districts of Wüsthetzdorf were Hutha and Neuwüsthetzdorf . In 1887 Wüsthetzdorf was incorporated into Hetzdorf with the districts of Neuwüsthetzdorf and Hutha. Hutha was first mentioned in connection with ore deliveries to the Freiberg mint probably before 1511.

Herrndorf with Erlicht

The former district of Hetzdorf, first mentioned in 1532 as Herndorff , lies in the lower part of the valley through which the Hetzbach flows. In 1948 Herrndorf was incorporated into Hetzdorf with the Erlicht district .

Klinikum am Tharandter Wald

The “Klinik am Tharandter Wald” - a rehabilitation clinic for orthopedics, trauma surgery, neurology, cardiology / internal medicine - is located in Hetzdorf and opened in 1997.

Excursion possibilities

In Hetzdorf there were a number of artificially created ponds that served an earlier oil and fulling mill. An outdoor swimming pool was later built here by the Hetzdorfers. In 1995 the solar heated leisure and adventure pool "Sumpfmühle" was opened at this point.

On the edge of the Tharandt forest, directly at the bath, there is also the excursion restaurant Hotel and Pension "Sumpfmühle". In 1968 the former VEB Narva Brand-Erbisdorf acquired the swamp mill and converted it into a cultural and educational center with a public restaurant.

The forest hotel and restaurant "Bergschlößchen" is located directly by the forest. The redesigned hotel was previously the restaurant and holiday home of the former Robotron Dresden combine .

In addition, the rest area in Ruppertbruch , a nature trail and the terrain cure trails of the local clinic invite you to take a trip through the Tharandt forest near Hetzdorf.

Attractions

South of the village in 1983 in Glasergrund (district Grillenburg ) the remains of medieval glass melting sites for the production of raw glass ( forest glass ) with ceramic finds from the 13th century were found, which are now accessible through an educational trail in the Tharandt forest.

The hunting column, which was rediscovered not far from the original location on the B 173 in Hutha, to commemorate a hunting event under Elector Friedrich August II. From 1738, was together with historical forest boundary stones from the 16th to 19th centuries near Hetzdorf, on aisle 21, in the district of Grillenburg repositioned in the Tharandt forest. The oldest Saxon boundary stone erected there from 1555 testifies to the first forest regulations being issued in 1543 by the Duke and later Elector Moritz of Saxony.
