Holsted Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Næstved on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . It was created on December 3, 2000 by splitting off from Herlufsholm Sogn in what was then Næstved Kommune in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into the “new” Næstved Municipality in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .
9,248 people live in the parish, the majority of whom belong to the 43,803 inhabitants of Næstved (as of January 1, 2020).
The church "Holsted Kirke" is located in the parish.
Neighboring communities are Rislev Sogn in the north, Fensmark Sogn in the northeast, Holme Olstrup Sogn in the east, Rønnebæk Sogn and Sankt Peders Sogn in the south and Herlufsholm Sogn in the west .

Until 1970 Herlufsholm Sogn belonged to Harde Øster Flakkebjerg Herred in what was then Sorø Amt .
