Sankt Jørgens Sogn ( Eng .: Sankt Georgs Gemeinde ) is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Næstved on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Tybjerg Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Næstved Kommune in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into the "new" Næstved Municipality in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .

Of the 43,803 inhabitants of Næstved, 7,239 live in the parish of Sankt Jørgens (as of January 1, 2020).

In the parish is the church "Sankt Jørgens Kirke".

Neighboring municipalities are Sankt Mortens Sogn in the north and west and Rønnebæk Sogn in the south and east .
