Hugo am Zehnhoff

Paul Hugo am Zehnhoff (born February 11, 1855 in Waldorf ; † August 24, 1930 in Düsseldorf ) was a German lawyer and politician ( center ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Zehnhoff began studying law, which he completed in 1876 with the first state examination and in 1882 with the second state examination. During his studies he joined the WKSt.V. Unitas-Salia Bonn . He was initially a trainee lawyer in Göttingen and Cologne , and obtained his doctorate as Dr. jur. and then worked as a lawyer at the Cologne Higher Regional Court . After being appointed to the Judicial Council in 1901 and to the Secret Judicial Council in 1906, he worked as a lawyer at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court . In 1913 he became chairman of the Düsseldorf Bar Association .

During the time of the German Empire , Zehnhoff was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1899 to 1908 . He was also a member of the Reichstag from 1899 to 1918 . During the Weimar Republic he was a member of the Prussian state assembly and the Prussian state parliament from 1919 to 1928 .

Public offices

Zehnhoff served from March 25, 1919 to March 5, 1927 as Prussian State Minister of Justice in the state governments led by Prime Ministers Paul Hirsch , Otto Braun , Adam Stegerwald and Wilhelm Marx .
