Tripp's Rockband (Original title: I'm in the Band ) is an American sitcom from the Walt Disney Company from 2009. The series is produced by Disney XD and It's a Laugh Productions . In the US, the first episode was previewed on Disney XD on November 27, 2009, before normal broadcasting began on January 18, 2010. In Germany, the first episode was also shown in advance as a preview on March 26, 2010, before normal broadcasting began on April 30, 2010. The second season has been on view in the USA since October 11, 2010 and in Germany since May 27, 2011.

The series takes place in the same series universe as Hotel Zack & Cody , Hannah Montana , Die Zauberer vom Waverly Place , Jessie , Raven looks through and thus also Easy Cory , which is indicated by the appearance of the characters from Zack & Cody on board in the episode Tripp's rock band Board is made clear.

Disney decided in April 2011 not to commission a third season of the series because the audience numbers were low.

action

Fifteen year old Tripp Campbell dreams of being part of a rock band. When he took part in a radio contest for a prize pending dinner with his favorite band, Iron Weasel (A parody of Iron Maiden ), he won and his dream finally came true. He manages to inspire her with his guitar playing and thus convinces her to declare him lead guitarist.

Tripp's new band members are three middle-aged men: singer Derek Jupiter, bassist Burger Pitt and drummer Ash. The band mates scoff at the idea of ​​taking a child into their band, so Tripp offers them the guest room in his mother's house, which is a comfortable alternative to their previous living in a narrow van. Fortunately for him, Tripp can ultimately win over his mother and for the big changes in family life that will take place because of him. In their non-conformist way, the band will help Tripp through his high school days with the long-term goal of turning him into a real rock star . Tripp's best friend Izzy Fuentes is an aspiring singer who tries to bring Tripp back down to earth and keep him out of trouble. Nevertheless, she always longs to sing for the band once. Tripp has high hopes for the band and is doing everything he can to make it an epic comeback.

Although Steve Valentine plays lead singer Derek, a professional singer, Chuck Duran, was hired to sing the songs. Since this was not available for the second season, the new songs were sung by Robert Mason.
