IC 2559 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SB (s) b? in the constellation Antila in the southern sky , which is an estimated 149 million light years away from the Milky Way . The galaxies IC 2552 , IC 2556 , IC 2558 , IC 2560 lie in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on May 1, 1900 .
