aims

The main goal of the International Panorama Council is to promote worldwide research on existing and future panoramas . He advocates the preservation of the few still existing memorial panoramas from the 19th and early 20th centuries as well as the professional and professional examination of the topic. IPC serves as a bridge between the monument era of the art form panorama and the contemporary and future forms. The association advocates simplified formal recognition and protection of panoramas by organizations such as UNESCO or the Council of Europe . The International Panorama Council campaigns for the preservation of historical panoramas. In 2007 and 2008, a PR and lobbying campaign was carried out in Innsbruck / Austria to save the threatened Innsbruck giant circular painting and a successful campaign to save Panorama Mesdag, which was endangered by construction work . Furthermore, IPC aims to have a selection of particularly significant panoramas recognized as UNESCO World Heritage . In July 2008 the Panorama Waterloo was placed on the Belgian tentative list (candidate list ) of UNESCO as a first step . In February 2009 Panorama Mesdag in the Netherlands applied for inclusion on the Dutch tentative list.
