Jacques Herlin (2010)

Jacques Herlin (born August 17, 1927 in Le Vésinet , † June 7, 2014 in Paris ; actually Jacques de Jouette ) was a French actor .

Life

Jacques Herlin was born in Le Vésinet on August 17, 1927 , and spent his childhood and youth in Toulon . His passion for theater arose when he accompanied his girlfriend at the time to an acting class. In 1951 he went to Paris, where he took acting courses from Raymond Girard , which were also attended by Jean-Paul Belmondo and Françoise Fabian . He joined a theater group in which he played classical repertoire and performed successfully at the Théâtre de la Michodière under the direction of Pierre Fresnay, Yvonne Printemps and François Périer.

Although Herlin has appeared in over 170 roles in movies and television productions as well as several theatrical productions since 1958, little else is known about his biography. During his artistic career he was also called Jacques Erlaine and Jacques Herlein . In many international productions he spoke his roles in the respective production language, such as English , Italian and German (which he never learned).

Slender, short Herlin often played comedic roles in many genre films. Only occasionally was he able to embody figures corresponding to his talent and escaping this cliché. He played his last role in 2014 in the film Ich und Kaminski , which was not completed until after his death.
