Jan-Luca Rumpf (born July 8, 1999 in Wiesbaden ) is a German soccer player . The central defender is under contract with SC Paderborn 07 .

Career

Rumpf played for youth teams from SV Wehen Wiesbaden and Eintracht Frankfurt in Hesse . He spent his last A-youth year at Hannover 96 and played 27 of 28 games in the junior Bundesliga and cup , including 26 over the full season. In the end, the defender finished eighth with the team and moved up to the second men's team in the summer of 2018, which competed in the Regionalliga Nord . Under head coach Christoph Dabrowski , however, Rumpf was not given a chance and switched to the upper division Sportfreunde Siegen during the winter break . There he was immediately a regular player and only missed one game until the end of the season.

The Hesse was then signed by the Bundesliga promoted SC Paderborn 07 and given a two-year contract. Rumpf trained as part of the squad with the professionals, but initially only played for the top division team, for which he made 19 missions (two goals, one assist) until the end of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic . On the 31st Bundesliga match day, he was in the back four alongside Jamilu Collins , Christian Strohdiek and Laurent Jans under head coach Steffen Baumgart in the 1: 5 against Werder Bremen in the starting eleven and played every minute of play. Two game days before the end of the game, the defender and Paderborn had already been relegated.

Others

Rumpf grew up in Hünstelden and has a sister.
