Kai Pröger (born May 15, 1992 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German football player . He is under contract with SC Paderborn 07 and is mostly used in the right midfield.

Career

From the youth of Heidmühler FC, he rose to the men's division in 2011 and completed a season with the team in the Weser-Ems regional league. For the next season he moved to the second team of VfB Oldenburg . In Oldenburg he was not only used in the reserve, but also in the first team. He made his debut in the Regionalliga Nord on March 3, 2013 in a 1-1 draw against SV Meppen . He was appointed to the starting line-up by coach Andreas Boll and took the 1-0 lead in the 35th minute.

For the 2014/15 season he moved from VfB Oldenburg to 1. FSV Mainz 05 II . He made his professional debut in the 3rd division in a 2-2 draw on August 2, 2014 in the game against Fortuna Cologne . In the 63rd minute he was substituted on for Marc Wachs by coach Martin Schmidt .

After a season he left the Mainz reserve and moved to BFC Dynamo in Berlin. He made his debut in the Regionalliga Nordost on July 24, 2015 in a 3-0 defeat against FSV Zwickau . He scored his first goal for BFC on August 23, 2015 in the game against FC Schönberg 95 . In the 3-2 win, he scored the goal to make it 1-1 in the 11th minute.

For the 2017/18 season , Pröger moved from BFC Dynamo to Rot-Weiss Essen ; His contract ran until 2019, but was already terminated during the winter break of the following season so that the midfielder could switch to the 2nd Bundesliga for promoted SC Paderborn 07 , to which he contracted until 2021. With SC Paderborn, Pröger rose to the Bundesliga at the end of the season. There he scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 2: 3 defeat against FC Bayern Munich on matchday 6 of the 2019/20 season.
