Jesse Thomas (born February 29, 1980 in Bend ) is an American duathlete and triathlete . He is the Ironman winner (2015, 2016) and is ranked second in the best list of American triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Jesse Thomas was successful in running in his youth. In August 2007 he was third in the age group 25-29 at the Triathlon World Championship in Hamburg .

Triathlon professional since 2010

He has been a professional athlete since 2010 and has won the Wildflower Triathlon six times in a row (2011 to 2015).

At his first start on the long distance he was able to win the Ironman Wales with a new course record in September 2015 and in May 2016 he won the Ironman Lanzarote . At the Ironman Hawaii in October, he finished 16th.

In April 2017 he came second in the first Ironman 70.3 Liuzhou . Jesse Thomas is trained by Matt Dixon .

At the Challenge Roth in July 2018, the 38-year-old finished third after 7:54:38 h with a new personal best and thus set the second-best time of a US athlete on the Ironman distance.

He lives in Eugene with his wife .
