Joachim Christian Andersen (born May 31, 1996 in Solrød Strand ) is a Danish football player . He has been playing for Olympique Lyon since summer 2019 .

Andersen's first steps

Joachim Andersen began playing football with Greve Fodbold from Greve in the greater Copenhagen area before he switched to the FC Copenhagen football school ( School of Excellence ). At the age of 16, Andersen moved to the FC Midtjylland football school in Herning in Central Jutland . On August 8, 2013, he moved to the youth academy of the Dutch first division club FC Twente . On November 8, 2013 he made his debut for the reserve team on the 16th matchday of the Jupiler League (second Dutch league) in the game against SC Telstar . Andersen came to 21 games in the 2013-14 season.

Between reserve and professional team at FC Twente

On August 9, 2014 Andersen was part of the team of the Enscheder professional team for the first time in the 1-1 match on the first day of the Eredivisie season 2014/15 in the away game against SC Cambuur Leeuwarden . In the following years he continued to play in the reserve team and finally made his debut in the Eredivisie on March 6, 2015 in a 2-2 draw on matchday 26 in the game at Willem II Tilburg , when he came on for Hidde ter Avest . By the end of the 2016/17 season, he played a total of 49 league games for FC Twente, in which he scored four goals.

Change to Italy

Andersen moved to Sampdoria Genua in the summer of 2017 . His first appearance was the 4-1 win in the fourth round of Coppa Italia on November 28, 2017 against Delfino Pescara . Andersen played in Serie A for the first time on February 25, 2018 when he came on as a substitute for Bartosz Bereszyński in the 85th minute of the 2-1 win against Udinese Calcio on matchday 26 .

Change to France

In the summer of 2019 Andersen moved to Olympique Lyon .
