Joaquín , full name Joaquín Sánchez Rodríguez (born July 21, 1981 in El Puerto de Santa María , province of Cádiz ), is a Spanish football player who is under contract with Betis Sevilla . He is best known for his speed on the ball and his strength at dribbling .
Career

Joaquín grew up with his parents and eight siblings, two of whom were also soccer players. His uncle secured him a trial training session with the Betis Sevilla youth team. After a successful trial session, Joaquín came to Betis Sevilla from his hometown club Gafa de San Luis .
Already in his youth at Betis Sevilla Joaquín played in the right attacking midfield. His league debut in the first team of Betis, which then played in the second division , he celebrated on September 3, 2000 against SD Compostela . After the club's rise again, Joaquín made his Primera División debut on August 26, 2001 at La Rosaleda against FC Málaga . He played a total of five seasons for Betis. His greatest success was winning the Copa del Rey in 2005. He also took part in the UEFA Champions League once and twice in the UEFA Cup with Betis .
In August 2006, Joaquín moved from Betis Sevilla to Valencia CF for a transfer fee of around 25 million euros and thus got out of his current contract with Betis four years before the end of his contract. At Valencia he was mostly part of the regular staff and played at least 28 league games in each of his four seasons.
For the 2011/12 season Joaquín moved to Málaga FC . For the 2013/14 season Joaquín moved to the Italian first division club Fiorentina .
Joaquín returned to Betis Sevilla on the last day of the summer 2015 transfer window . With over 500 games now, he is one of the ten players with the most appearances in the Primera División.
National team
On February 13, 2002 Joaquín made his debut in a friendly against Portugal in the Spanish national team. Joaquín took part with Spain in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea , as well as in the EURO 2004 in Portugal and the 2006 World Cup in Germany . For the Euro 2008 , however, he was not considered by coach Luis Aragonés .
