John Sanford Posey (born February 7, 1956 in Hartford , Connecticut ) is an American actor .

life and career

John Posey was born in Hartford, the capital of the US state Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1981 and has been an actor since 1986. Before that, he was already successful with his own stage program Father, Son & Holy Coach and was featured in numerous advertising sports.

Posey took on one of his first acting roles as Mr. Jacobi in the movie Manhunter - Red Dragon 1986. Then he was in television series like Dallas , Seinfeld , Cheers or Echt super to see Mr. Cooper and took on supporting roles in the films A Yuppie stands in the forest and RoboCop 3 . 1995 followed a small supporting role in the series My Wildest Dreams .

Since 1995 Posey has appeared in over 40 series in guest roles, including The Client , JAG - On behalf of Honor , Chicago Hope - Endstation Hope , Seven Days - The Gate Currently , Crossing Jordan - Pathologist with Profile , Providence , Emergency Room - Die Emergency Room , Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten , Boston Legal , Navy CIS , Criminal Minds , Drop Dead Diva , Bones - The Bone Hunter , Scorpion or Lucifer . He made other recurring roles in Teen Wolf and How to Get Away with Murder .

He was married to Cyndi Garcia Posey from 1991 until her death in 2014. They had four children together, including Tyler Posey , who is also an actor.
