After graduating from Moeller High School in his hometown, Duncan began studying at the Xavier University of Cincinnati , where from 2004 he worked with the later Bundesliga professional Stanley Burrell for the Musketeers college team in the Atlantic 10 Conference ( A-10) the NCAA played. The Musketeers were unable to defend their title in the A-10 championship tournament in 2005 and also missed a qualification for a national NCAA finals tournament . A year later, the Musketeers took back the title in the A-10 tournament and beat the Hawks of Saint Joseph's University in the final with a point difference of 62:61. In the final tournament, however, they lost in the first round against the favored Bulldogs of Gonzaga University . In 2007 the Musketeers could not defend their title in the A-10 tournament, but in the final tournament they reached the second round, in which they were defeated by Greg Oden, the eventual finalist Buckeyes of Ohio State University, after extra time. After Justin Cage and Justin Doellman had started a professional career, Duncan and Burrell, together with Jamel McLean among others, even reached the quarter-finals Elite Eight in the "March Madness" 2008 , in which they were clearly defeated by the UCLA Bruins . In the subsequent NBA draft 2008 , however, Duncan was not selected by any club in the most highly endowed professional league NBA .

After finishing his studies, Duncan started a professional career in Europe in 2008, where he played for the French old master Élan Béarnais from Pau in the 2008/09 season . After 34 years Erstligazugehörigkeit and five years after their last title win, however, the club was relegated at the end of the season after only seven wins in 30 games as a Table from the top division LNB Pro A from. Therefore Duncan joined the following season in the highest Belgian league Ethias League the club from Liege , who with Mike Green and Will Thomas the Belgian Supercup won in 2010 and the play-off -Finalserie reached for the championship, but the defending champions Spirou Charleroi lost went. For the 2010/11 season Duncan moved to the highest Israeli league Ligat ha'Al to Maccabi from Ashdod . Right away, the team reached the play-offs in sixth place, in which they had no win in the quarter-finals against Hapoel Jerusalem. As seventh of the following season they surprised runner-up Hapoel Gilboa Galil in the play-off quarter-finals and moved into the final game in the Final Four tournament, which was then clearly lost to defending champions and record champions Maccabi Tel Aviv . While Duncan's teammate Joshua Carter moved to Russia and Alex Tyus to Italy, Duncan went to Hapoel from Jerusalem at the end of the season . With a negative season balance, Hapoel reached the 2013 play-offs in fifth, in which they could just assert themselves in the first round, but then remained without a win in the semi-final against defending champion Maccabi Tel Aviv in the play-off format. In the following season, Hapoel reached the Israeli play-offs as the second-placed team, just one defeat behind ULEB Euroleague 2013/14 champion Maccabi Tel Aviv. In addition, they won the last sixteen in the 2013/14 Eurocup , which they had already won ten years earlier, against the German representative ratiopharm Ulm and were only eliminated in the following round against BK Nizhny Novgorod .
