Location of Klandorf in Brandenburg

Klandorf is a district of the non-governmental municipality Schorfheide in the Barnim district in Brandenburg .

history

The area around Klandorf is an ancient settlement area. During excavation work carried out near the train station in 1908/09, an extensive urn field and several cremation sites of old Germanic origin were found.

A village already existed nearby in the 13th century, and a field name still mentions the "desert" land. 16 tar ovens and two stoves with woodpots , which were uncovered in 1936/39, date from the same period  .

The village itself was founded in 1811. It came into being after the great fire of September 6th, 1808 in Groß Schönebeck, in which the Lehnschulzengut and some farms burned down and as a result 16 cottages were relocated. The village got its name after the clan river. The first entries in the church register were "auf dem Klahn" near Groß Schönebeck.

Klandorf was incorporated into Groß Schönebeck on January 1, 1974 .

Until 1952, Klandorf belonged to the Niederbarnim district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg (after the Second World War, the state of Brandenburg), from 1952 to 1993 it belonged to the Bernau district in the Frankfurt (Oder) district (1990 to 1993, the state of Brandenburg).

In 2003, Groß Schönebeck and Finowfurt merged to form the municipality of Schorfheide.

The list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg and the list of architectural monuments in Schorfheide include:

The neo-Gothic church was built in 1868 from light bricks on a granite base. The church is not oriented east-west, as is traditionally customary, but stands parallel to the wide village street in north-south direction. The church was inaugurated on February 8, 1869. The church received the northern tower in 1914. It has paired sound openings on all sides. The spire was renewed in 1984. The interior of the church has a wooden ceiling, and the heated winter church has been located under the gallery in the north since 1950. The church was painted in 1898.

The furnishings of the church come from the time it was founded (1868/69). A large monogram of Christ is attached to the south wall. The pulpit is behind the masonry altar. It has the shape of an elongated dais. The eight-sided, also neo-Gothic baptism (left of the altar) is made of sheet iron. The pews also date from the time the church was founded. The organ on the north gallery was built in 1908 by the Eberswalde organ building company Kienscherff.

The middle- floor house is considered the oldest house in the village and was supposedly built as early as 1807, before the arrival of those expelled from Groß Schönebeck. After extensive renovation work in close coordination with the monument authorities in 2016-2019, it now makes a significant contribution to the preservation of the historic village center. It can be viewed by appointment.

traffic

Klandorf is two kilometers east of state road 100, which crosses the Schorfheide in a north-south direction (until 2005 federal road 109 ).

In 1901 the place was connected to the Reinickendorf-Liebenwalde-Groß Schönebecker railway, the so-called Heidekrautbahn , today regional train from Berlin-Karow to Groß Schönebeck (course book number 209.27). The Klandorf stop is served every two hours during the day.
