The 1947/48 season was the second season of the Class A as the highest Soviet ice hockey league . The Soviet championship title was secured for the first time by ZDKA Moscow .

The ten teams in Class A played against each opponent in a return game, so the number of games per team was 18. Champion was the team with the highest points, while the bottom of the table was relegated to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
