Klaus Brüngel (2013)

Klaus J. Brüngel , also Klaus Bruengel , (born October 2, 1949 in Holzwickede ) is a German composer . He also emerged as a bassist ( electric bass and double bass ) and has written numerous musical works, especially in e-book format. Brüngel is also known under the pseudonym Nicola de Brun . His 46 musical representations of the characters and locations of Homer's epic Odyssey , summarized in an "Odyssey Suite", should be emphasized . In 2014 he composed the ballet suite “In Monet's Garden”.

Life

Brüngel studied 1968 to 1971 at the Conservatory of Dortmund . He also studied educational sciences at the University of Münster . He first played as a bassist with the Kurt Weil Orchestra in Sweden and with the WDR Ensemble Media Band under the direction of Harald Banter . He also worked from 1980 to 1985 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum under Claus Peymann in the plays The holy Johanna der Schlachthöfe , The Cherry Orchard , Our Republic and The Bat . Schauspielhaus Bochum learned Brüngel Herbert Grönemeyer know, together with Markus Stockhausen the three played for the Cologne-based group Ocean Orchestra .

Brüngel also worked as a bass player with other artists such as Bernt Laukamp , Heiner Wiberny , Jon Eardley , Kurt Weil , Hanne Wilfert , Otto Bredl and Ingfried Hoffmann . From 1980 to 2011 Klaus Brüngel worked in music education. He set some poems to music. In 2010 he composed the musical “ Meereslights” .

As a bass player, he was previously involved in a joint recording by the Hötter-Zimmermann Studio-Group, the Rettenbacher Studio-Orchester and the Berlin Studio-Group. Brüngel is the lead singer of the Cadillac barbershop quartet and was a member of the jazz rock group Time in Space, founded in 1972, and the North Rhine-Westphalia Youth Jazz Orchestra . In 1997 he wrote the song Xa-lando for the German and non-fiction book of the same name for primary schools in Germany. In 2002 he had his own orchestra and gave concerts for the benefit of UNICEF alongside Kevin Tarte and Afsaneh Sadeghi, among others .
