The Kleine Kahl or Kleinkahl is a left tributary of the Kahl near Kleinkahl in the district of Aschaffenburg in the Bavarian Spessart . It is the largest tributary of the Kahl in the Upper Kahlgrund .
geography
Kleinahlquelle
The Kleinkahlquelle , formerly also known as the Kleinahlursprung , is a large stratified spring at 326 m above sea level. NHN , at the wooded foot of the Eselshöhe mountain ridge , below the Edelberg ( 477 m above sea level ). It is located in the community-free area Schöllkrippener Forst , about two kilometers below the Spessart-Höhenstraße .
The Kleine Kahl rises from the large main spring and several smaller spring outlets on the left side of the path . The main source is not aggregated and was 2019 with red sandstone quadern provided. The Kleinkahlquelle, just like the Kahlquellen about 3 km to the north , is one of the strongest in the Spessart.
The ground that continues uphill in the direction of Heinrichsthal is mostly dry, but still belongs to the catchment area of the Kleine Kahl. After heavy rain or when the snow melts, a stream arises there much further south-east, which at the Kleinkahlquelle crosses two pipes under the forest path and flows into the main spring. Small springs often spring up to the right of the path, the water of which flows into this stream bed. The Kleinkahlquelle and the further course of the stream are located in the approximately 25 hectare nature reserve amphibious reserve Sommergrund .
course
Already about 50 m after its origin the Kleine Kahl leaves the community-free area and crosses the district boundary to Kleinkahl . It then meanders through the meadows of two clearings in the nature reserve and is reinforced from the left by the Potaschen fountain .
After the Kleine Kahl has left the forest in a north-westerly direction, it runs through the widening summer ground , is fed by other springs and serves as a water inlet for a fish pond . There it is crossed by the Degen-Weg . In the local area of the municipality of Kleinkahl, it splits into two arms for about 500 m, in order to once operate the Kleinkahler Bachmühle , and finally flows into the Kahl opposite Großkahl on the district road AB 20 .
