The Klokken- en Kunstgieterij Reiderland is in 1988 by Simon Laudy in Dutch Heiligerlee founded bell foundry , which is next to the bell cast on art casting has specialized and rehabilitation of Läuteanlagen. Today the company is based in Finsterwolde .

Career

Simon Laudy (* 1961) learned the profession of bell founder at the Asten- based bell foundry Royal Eijsbouts . In 1988 he started his own business as a bell founder in the former Van Bergen bell foundry in Heiligerlee. His first projects were a small carillon in Veendam in 1988 and a bell for the Catholic Boniface Church in Nieuwe Pekela in 1989 . At the end of the 1990s, Laudy moved his workshop to Finsterwolde. There, together with Winold van der Putten, he also opened a small foundry for the production of organ metal . Today Klokken- en Kunstgieterij Reiderland is an international company.

Working method

If the clay molding process is otherwise used to make bells, Laudy works with the so-called water glass process (water glass as a binding agent for sand molds). Laudy places particular accuracy on the surface quality and the sound quality of his bells. This applies above all to his ringing bells, which are cast on clay and then do not have to be further corrected. Laudy also reconstructs historical bell ribs.

Laudy is also able to cast bells at their destination.

When it comes to renovations, Laudy almost invariably uses straight yokes and clappers, unlike his Dutch colleagues . This contributes to better sound development and a longer lifespan of the bells.
