Kochłowice ( German Kochelsdorf , also Kucheldorf ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location
Kochłowice is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Kochłowice is about five kilometers southwest of the Byczyna municipality , about 15 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kluczbork and about 64 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .
The Proschlitzer Bach (Polish Pratwa ) flows on the eastern edge of the village .

Neighboring towns of Kochłowice are in the north Polanowice ( Polanowitz ), in the east Biskupice ( Bischdorf ), in the southeast Sarnów ( Sarnau ) and in the southwest Rożnów ( Rosen ).
history
The village is first mentioned in 1404 as Kochlowicz . The Slavic name Kochlowice means favorite place .
In 1845 there was a farm, a distillery and another 40 houses in the village. In the same year, 381 people lived in Kochelsdorf, 46 of them Catholic. In 1861 there were 376 people in Jakobsdorf. In 1874, the district of Bischdorf was founded, to which Kochelsdorf was incorporated.
In 1933, 325 people lived in Kochelsdorf, and in 1939 there were 346 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district
As a result of the Second World War, Kochelsdorf, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration in 1945 . Subsequently, the place was renamed Kochłowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
Attractions
- The cooking Elsdorf castle was built 1,923th The building has a rectangular floor plan, two floors and a mansard roof. On the northern front there is a gable with ornaments in the neo-renaissance style.
- The castle is surrounded by a 2.8 hectare landscaped park . The oldest trees are around 180 years old. This has been a listed building since 1978.
