Geographical location

Kolzowo is located southeast of the district capital Osjorsk ( Darkehmen , 1938–1946 Angerapp ) on a little fortified side street, the Jablonowka ( Wilhelmsberg ), Solnetschnoje ( Szameitschen / Schameitschen , 1938–1946 Brahmannsdorf ) and Pskowskoje ( Friedrichsberg ) with Bagrationowo ( Wikischken , 1938–1946., 1938–1946 Wiecken ) connects.

Until 1945 there was a rail connection with the Wikischken / Wiecken (Russian: Bagrationowo) station two kilometers away on the now defunct railway line from Insterburg (today Russian: Tschernjachowsk) to Lyck (now Polish: Ełk).

history

In 1863 Kohlau was mentioned as a small and inconspicuous place with 56 inhabitants in the parish of Kleszowen (1938-1946 Kleschauen , Russian: Kutusowo)., And in 1879 the place was "royal Domainenvorwerk". In 1907 55 people lived in Kohlau.

When the rural community Friedrichsberg was formed on August 7, 1925 from part of the manor district Friedrichsberg (Russian: Pskowskoje) in the district Wilhelmsberg (Jablonowka) , the remaining part was renamed "Kohlau". On September 30, 1928, the Kohlau manor was incorporated into the rural community Raudohnen (1938-1946 Raunen , Russian: Wolkowo). As their district, Kohlau belonged to the Darkehmen district (1938–1946 Angerapp ) in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia until 1945 .

After 1945 belonging to the Soviet Union and called "Kolzowo" since 1946, the place as a "settlement" has been part of the Gavrilowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Gawrilowo ( Gawaiten , 1938–1946 Herzogsrode )) in the Osjorsk district in the now Russian Kaliningrad Oblast .

church

Before 1945, Kohlau was parish with its predominantly Protestant population in the parish of Kleszowen (1936–1938 Kleschowen , 1938–1946 Kleschauen , today in Russian: Kutusowo). It was affiliated to the church district Osjorsk ( Darkehmen , 1938-1946 Angerapp ) in the church province of East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Günther Warm .

After 1945, church life was forbidden in the Soviet Union . It was not until the 1990s that new Protestant parishes formed in the Kaliningrad Oblast , of which the one in Kadymka ( Eszerningken / Escherningken , 1938–1946 Eschingen ) is closest to Kolzowo. It belongs to the newly established Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER). The responsible pastors are those of the Salzburg Church in Gussew ( Gumbinnen ).
