Kopytko ( German  Kopitko , 1938 to 1945 Langerdamm ) is a small place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Rozogi (rural community Friedrichshof ) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).

Geographical location

Kopytko is located in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 20 kilometers southeast of the district town of Szczytno ( Ortelsburg in German  ).

history

The after 1802 Skopitko called small town was the seat of the state forest Friedrichsfelde ( Polish Chochoľ ) associated forester . Until 1945 it was a residential area within the municipality of Wystemp (1934 to 1945 Höhenwerder , Występ in Polish ). On June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - 1938 Kopitko was renamed "Langerdamm".

As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of name "Kopytko". As a forest settlement ( Osada leśna in Polish ) it is integrated into the rural community Rozogi (Friedrichshof) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 of the Ostrołęka Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Before 1945 Kopitko resp. Langerdamm in the Evangelical Church Friedrichshof in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church Liebenberg (Polish clone ) in the Diocese of Warmia .

On the Catholic side, the reference to Klon still exists today, with the parish now belonging to the Archdiocese of Warmia . The Protestant residents are now orienting themselves towards the church in Szczytno in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Kopytko can be reached from the Polish state road 53 (former German Reichsstraße 134 ) via a side road that leads to Kilimany (Lipniak near Liebenberg , Friedrichshagen from 1938 to 1945 ) . There is no connection to rail traffic .
