The Gmina Rozogi [ rɔˈzɔɡi ] is a rural community in the Powiat Szczycieński of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . Your seat is the village of the same name ( German Friedrichshof ) with about 1500 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the south of the voivodeship and borders the Masovian voivodeship . The Podlaskie Voivodeship is four kilometers to the east. The district town of Szczytno (Ortelsburg) is about 15 kilometers northwest. Neighboring municipalities are the municipalities of Wielbark in the southwest, Szczytno in the west, Świętajno in the north, Ruciane-Nida in the northeast and Pisz in the east as well as in the Masovian Voivodeship Łyse in the southeast, Myszyniec in the south and Czarnia in the southwest.
The community has an area of 224.4 km², 53 percent of which is used for agriculture and 41 percent for forestry. The upper reaches of the Szkwa (Rosogga, Skwa) called Rozoga runs through the municipality and its main town from north to south.
history
The rural community was formed again in 1973 from various gromadas . Their area belonged to the Olsztyn Voivodeship from 1946 to 1975 and then to the Ostrołęka Voivodeship until 1998 , the powiat was dissolved during this time. On January 1, 1999, the community came to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship and again to the Powiat Szczycieński.
On June 27, 2017 Gmina Rozogi gave a new coat of arms.

traffic
The most important road is the state road 53 (in the northern section the former German Reich road 134 ) from Olsztyn (Allenstein) to Ostrołęka . In the main town, the national road 59 branches off , which leads via Mrągowo (Sensburg) to Giżycko (Lötzen) .
The nearest major international airports are Gdansk and Warsaw .
Rail traffic on the Puppen – Myszyniec railway was discontinued in 1962/1973.
