Kristian Erik Kiehling (born September 17, 1976 in Holstebro , Denmark ) is a German actor and filmmaker with Latvian roots.

Life

Kristian Kiehling was born in Denmark in 1976 to a Latvian journalist and a captain. He received his acting training from 1997 to 2000 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . From 2000 he played at the Schauspiel Köln and the Theaterhaus Stuttgart ( The killer in me is the killer in you my love by Andri Beyeler ). In 2007 he made his debut on British television in the BBC series Waking the Dead - Double Bind . In 2011 he played the role of Alek Zukic in Ellen Perry's movie Will . In 2013 he was seen in the TV series Forbidden Love as Juri Adam. In 2014 he starred as Aleks Shirovs on the British television series EastEnders .

Kiehling got involved in the aid organization Migrant Offshore Aid Station , which he founded with his project Wohin? supported.

His directorial debut Chronicle Of A Summer In Europe was shown as a documentary centerpiece at the Lighthouse International Film Festival 2016.

In 2018 he produced the short film Wedding Day with the German Film and Television Academy Berlin , in 2020 he will play the role of Rupert in the Russian film Odin Vdoch alongside Viktorya Isakova.
