history

In 1397 a Johann von Krumbach became a follower of Junker Godart, Mr. zu Ütgenbach . The noble family "von Krumbach" had three eagle heads in their coat of arms, which the Lords of Panau (Panau is today a district of Neustadt (Wied) ) also had in their coat of arms. The three eagle heads were incorporated into the coat of arms of the Asbach community . The Lords of Krumbach administered the "Aldenhover Zehnt " (tenure), whose district stretched from Hussen to Altenhofen and from Ditscheid to Parscheid . In 1517 a later Johann von Krumbach and in 1537 a Friedrich von Krumbach were in the service of the Electoral Cologne office of Altenwied . Below Krumbach there was a water castle mentioned in a document in 1591, which was the seat of the von Krumbach family.

Krumbach belonged to the electorate of Cologne until 1803 . The place was part of the " Honnschaft Limbach", which belonged to the parish of Asbach and was under the administration of the Electoral Cologne Office Altenwied . According to an inventory ordered by Cologne Elector Maximilian Heinrich in 1660, there was only one farm in Krumbach.

After the Rhineland came to Prussia in 1815 , Krumbach belonged to the Limbach community in the then newly formed Neuwied district and was administered by the Mayor's Office Asbach . According to a census from 1885, Krumbach had 60 inhabitants who lived in 9 houses.

Until 1974 Krumbach was part of the then independent municipality Limbach . On March 16, 1974, the local community Asbach was newly formed from it and the communities of Asbach and Schöneberg, which were dissolved at the same time, as well as part of the community of Elsaff . In 1987 Krumbach had 20 residents.
