Langennaundorf is a part of the community Uebigau-Wahrenbrück in the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg .

Geographical location

Langennaundorf is at the intersection of the B 101 between Berlin and Dresden and the L 60 between Finsterwalde and Falkenberg / Elster . As a typical village , it is characterized by the numerous paths and the farms covered with red and yellow clinker brick .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1303 as Nuwendorf . Here a former trade route ( salt route ) led from Halle (Saale) - Leipzig - Torgau coming to Breslau .

The village was under until the Reformation the Cistercian - Dobrilugk Abbey . Langennaundorf was characterized by agriculture and animal husbandry. In 1835 the village had 47 houses with 234 inhabitants. There were 47 horses, 248 cattle and 19 pigs.

Only with the beginning of mining in the lignite opencast mining area Wildgrube / Tröbitz / Domsdorf did the residents find another opportunity to earn a living.

Shortly before the end of the Second World War, Langennaundorf was a stop on the Lost Train , which in April 1945 was supposed to bring around 2500 Jewish prisoners from the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp to the Theresienstadt concentration camp . The train stopped near Langennaundorf at 101.6 km, as it was not possible to continue the journey due to the destroyed bridge over the Black Elster . He had to turn back and ended up stranded in Tröbitz on April 23 . Today a memorial stone commemorates the victims.

On December 31, 1998, Langennaundorf was incorporated into the city of Uebigau.
