Larry LaRocco (born August 25, 1946 in Van Nuys , California ) is an American politician . Between 1991 and 1995 he represented the first constituency of the state of Idaho in the US House of Representatives .

Early years and advancement

Larry LaRocco studied at Stanford University at the Institute for Television and Radio until 1967 . Then he was until 1968 at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University . LaRocco has also studied at the University of Portland and Boston University . From 1969 to 1972 he was an intelligence officer in the US Army and stationed in Heidelberg . During this time, a car bomb exploded there, killing three American soldiers. After completing his military service, LaRocco worked in northern Idaho from 1975 to 1981 for US Senator Frank Church . Between 1983 and 1990 he was the vice president of a brokerage firm.

Political career

LaRocco is a member of the Democratic Party . In 1982 he ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the US Congress . A candidacy for the Idaho Senate also failed in 1986. In the congressional elections of 1990 he was then elected to the US House of Representatives and replaced Larry Craig there on January 3, 1991 . After a re-election in 1992, LaRocco was able to exercise his mandate until January 3, 1995. He was not confirmed in the 1994 elections.

In 2006 Larry LaRocco ran unsuccessfully for the office of lieutenant governor of Idaho, in 2008 a candidacy for the US Senate failed. Larry LaRocco is married to Chris LaRocco and lives in McCall , Idaho.
