Hamer H. Budge

Hamer Harold Budge (born November 21, 1910 in Pocatello , Idaho , †  July 22, 2003 in Scottsdale , Arizona ) was an American politician ( Republican Party ). Between 1951 and 1961 he represented the second constituency of the state of Idaho in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Hamer Budge attended public schools in Boise . From 1928 to 1930 he studied at the College of Idaho in Caldwell and then until 1933 at Stanford University in California . After completing a law degree at the University of Idaho , he began working as a lawyer in 1936.

From 1939 to 1941 and in 1949 he was a member of the Idaho House of Representatives . During the Second World War Budge was a soldier in the US Navy , whose reserve he later belonged to. In 1950 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in the second constituency of Idaho, where he replaced John C. Sanborn on January 3, 1951 . After a few re-elections, he was able to complete a total of five consecutive terms in Congress by January 3, 1961 . In 1960 he was defeated by the Democrat Ralph R. Harding in the elections .

Between 1961 and 1964, Hamer Budge was a judge in the Idaho Third Jurisdiction. In 1964, he was appointed to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission by President Lyndon B. Johnson . From 1969 until his retirement in 1971 he was chairman ( Chairman ) of this Commission. He was then President of the Mutual Funds Group in Minneapolis until 1978 . Hamer Budge died in Arizona in July 2003 and was buried in Boise.
