William "Bill" Henry Donaldson (born June 2, 1931 in Buffalo , New York ) is an American university professor and politician of the Republican Party , who was Under Secretary of State for International Security Affairs from 1973 to 1974 and chairman of the from 2003 to 2005 US Securities and Exchange Commission ( Securities and Exchange Commission ) was.

Life

After attending school, Donaldson first completed an undergraduate degree in American Studies at Yale University , which he completed in 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA).
