The 400-meter hurdles for women in the 2006 European Athletics Championships was to 9 August 2006 of 7 Ullevi stadium of the city of Gothenburg held.

European champion was the Russian Jewgenija Issakowa . The Greek Olympic champion from 2004 Faní Halkiá won the silver medal. Bronze went to Tetjana Tereschchuk-Antipowa from the Ukraine, who won the Olympic Games in 2004 .
