Lena Nuding (born February 18, 1993 in Ludwigsburg ) is a German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Lena Nuding started playing football at SKV Hochberg and moved to VfL Sindelfingen via TSV Neckargröningen and JSG Remseck 08 in 2009 . Previously, in 2007, when she was selected by the Württemberg Football Association, she took second place in the U-15 country cup and a year later she was named the best goalkeeper at the U-17 country cup, where she was third with the team. For Sindelfingen she played her first games in the 2nd Bundesliga South in the spring of 2010 and in the same year became champions of the B-Juniorinnen Oberliga Baden-Württemberg with the B-Juniors.

In the summer of 2011, the goalkeeper switched to the league competitor 1. FC Köln, with whom she was promoted to the Bundesliga as an undefeated champion in the summer of 2015 after two runners-up ( 2012/13 and 2013/14 ) . While she was the goalkeeper of Cologne from 2011 to 2014, she took turns in goal with the Danish national goalkeeper Stina Lykke Petersen in 2014/15 . On August 30, 2015 (1st matchday), she made her Bundesliga debut in the away game against Werder Bremen , but was sent off with a red card in the 89th minute in the 2: 6 defeat . In summer 2016 she moved to MSV Duisburg . She has been playing for SC Freiburg since the 2018/19 season .

National team

Nuding went through the DFB's junior selection from 2008 to 2012 . With the U-16 national team she took part in the Nordic Cup in 2009 and finished second after a 1: 2 defeat in the final against the Swedish team. In the following year she reached third place with the European Championship in Nyon and thus qualified for the World Championship in Trinidad and Tobago , where she failed with the team in the quarter-finals in the selection of North Korea. Nuding was used in three of the four tournament games. Most recently, she was in goal in three games for the U-19 national team in 2012 .
