Let It Go (Disney Song)
Let It Go is a song from the English-language original version of the Disney film Frozen - Totally Unabashed (original title: Frozen ). It was written by the married couple Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and has won several awards, including an Oscar for best film song at the 2014 Academy Awards and a Grammy Award in 2015. While the song is sung by actress Idina Menzel in the film , it was also sung a more pop version of the singer Demi Lovato has been released. In the German version the song is called Lass now and is sung by Willemijn Verkaik .
content
In the film, the song is sung by Queen Elsa shortly after she left her kingdom because her magical powers were exposed. She had to suppress this as an adolescent in order not to harm the people around her, especially her sister Anna. In solitude, she can develop her strength freely and create things and beings from snow and ice.
Emergence
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and her husband had already written a few songs for the film when they started a song that was titled in the plot as "Elsa's badass song" (in German roughly "Elsa's tough song"). The role of Elsa was conceived in the original drafts as an opponent to Anna, while the authors saw Elsa as a frightened girl struggling to control her powers ("a scared girl struggling to control and come to terms with her gift") . The song convinced the filmmakers to revise the character of Elsa.
